System Design and Estimator - London

Our client is looking for a System Designer & Estimator to join their growing team - could it be you?

In this role, you will be responsible for designing, estimating, and delivering tailored security solutions—including cloud-based access control, CCTV, intercoms, and intruder alarms—for commercial clients specifically across the London area. You will work closely with clients, engineers, project managers, and manufacturers to ensure each solution is designed to the highest standards, meeting both technical requirements and industry best practices.

Your role will involve designing and producing system layouts, schematics, and technical drawings based on client needs. You will conduct client meetings and workshops to discuss security solutions, ensuring their requirements are fully understood and incorporated into system designs. Developing accurate cost estimates, proposals, and technical documentation will be a key part of your responsibilities, as well as working closely with in-house teams to ensure smooth project execution. You will also liaise with manufacturers and suppliers to confirm the compatibility and feasibility of proposed solutions while staying up to date with emerging security technologies and industry trends. Ensuring all designs comply with security and safety regulations will be crucial to the role.

To be successful in this position, you will need experience in security system design and estimation, along with a strong knowledge of cloud-based access control and CCTV solutions. You should have an understanding of system integration, network infrastructure, and security compliance, as well as the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Visio, or similar design software would be beneficial but is not essential. Excellent communication skills are a must, as you will be engaging with clients and stakeholders regularly. Strong attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team will be key to thriving in this role.
